Our Mission:
To promote research on phage and virus assembly through open dialogue between researchers from around the world
“The Biennial Conference on Phage/Virus Assembly (PVA) is the continuation of a series that was initiated in 1968. The first meetings included scientists working on mechanisms of bacteriophage assembly, and it has since expanded to include all virus systems. This conference is held during alternate years with the biennial FASEB Virus Structure and Assembly meeting. The Conference is highly interdisciplinary, bringing together virologists, geneticists, biochemists, biophysicists, and structural biologists working on various aspects of virus assembly and viral function. The training and support of new generations of researchers in virus assembly are priorities of the Conference; this is achieved by providing trainees the opportunity to present their work, be exposed to cutting edge research, and interact with an international scientific community.
Commitment to Diversity and Equity:
“The PVA organizers and PVA community commit to providing an inclusive environment for equal and respectful treatment of all participants. The Biennial Conference on Phage/Virus Assembly recognizes the importance of equal representation in speakers and strives to achieve balance in all aspects of our conferences. We are committed to equal representation for the organizing committee, keynote speakers, and session chairs. The selection of presentations for the PVA meeting relies on selection from submitted abstracts; selection is based on scientific merit, while also giving consideration to ensure equity.”
