About:

The Biennial Conference on Phage/Virus Assembly (PVA) continues a tradition that began in 1968. Initially focused on the mechanisms of bacteriophage assembly, the conference has since expanded to encompass all virus systems. It alternates biennially with the FASEB Virus Structure and Assembly meeting.

This highly interdisciplinary conference brings together virologists, geneticists, biochemists, biophysicists, and structural biologists to explore various aspects of virus assembly and function. A key priority of the conference is training and supporting the next generation of researchers. This is achieved by providing trainees with opportunities to present their work, engage with cutting-edge research, and interact with a global scientific community.

Mission

To promote research on virus assembly through open dialogue between researchers from around the world.

Diversity

The PVA organisers and PVA community commit to providing an inclusive environment for equal and respectful treatment of all participants. The Biennial Conference on Phage/Virus Assembly recognises the importance of equal representation in speakers and strives to achieve balance in all aspects of our conferences. We are committed to equal representation for the organising committee, keynote speakers, and session chairs. The selection of presentations for the PVA meeting relies on selection from submitted abstracts; selection is based on scientific merit, while also giving consideration to ensure equity.
